Another awesome show!

Last night my good friend Jacki and I drove all the way to Grand Rapids to see New Kids on the Block. I know this seems extreme but 15-20 years ago every girl wanted to go see NKOTB!
Plus it was well worth it once I got to touch all 5 of the guys! Our section go picked to stand around the small stage in the back of the floor! It was a lot of fun!
Plus for the encore they came out in MSU basketball jersey's, sang Hangin Tough then shot off green and white confetti!!!
It was awesome!
Here's a little clip, see if it brings back memories!

Holy Cow where have a I been!

WOW I didn't realize it has been over a month since my last blog!

Life's been busy! Greg finally got on the day shift!!! So we actually get to see each other everyday for more then a few minutes and we get to eat dinner together everyday for the first time in a VERY long time, really ever. It's so nice, it's kind of like being newlyweds all over again!
Speaking of newlyweds, I have to say congrats to my one of my very closest friends Bess who got engaged a few weeks ago. I'm sure she is still floating!!

So is anyone else getting a bit annoyed with the Tonkins or whatever on Biggest Loser, Filipe and Sionia? I was really hating the whole black team last week, they did not deserve to win that weigh in!

Anyone watching Dancing with the Stars? I haven't watched in a long time but you know I've gotta follow the Girls Next Door (who aren't anymore)! Plus I really like Shawn Johnson and Denise Richards (don't ask me why about this one)!
Anyway should be interesting! What is with the Apple guy?

Anyway I'm going to try to get back on track here, just need something exciting to happen to write about!

Seattle/Kitty Hawk

Ok I'm finally going to post some highlights of our trip to Seattle! First the reason we went was for the Kitty Hawk decommisioning ceremony (which turned into an honoring ceremony). The Ceremony was on Saturday morning, it was very nice very emotional but a very nice closure to the Navy Chapter of our lives! Greg was a little emotional, I don't think he ever expected to be back on board the Kitty Hawk for any reason!

Greg and I after the ceremony

Greg giving his final salute!

Later that day we took the ferry to Downtown Seattle (we were in Puget Sound) and saw a beautiful sunset!

The next day it was back on the Ferry to Seattle!

It's so pretty out there!
It was windy!

First stop downtown? The First Starbucks store of course!
Then acrossed the street to Pike Place Market to leave my mark (on the Gum wall)!
Next it was on to Tiffany's (sorry no Pitcture)

On the way back from Tiffany's we passed a Nordstrom Rack with a big SHOE SALE!! Hello my favorite words! I found something I never thought I'd be able to have! A pair of Manolo Blahnik's (and Sex and the City or fashion fan knows that name)! Anyway I got an AMAZING deal so I got this pair!

Next stop the Space Needle!
It was soooo Windy!

Then back to the hotel to watch the end of the Super Bowl!
One of the Very coolest things about the trip was that we actually got to see Mt Rainer two out of our four days! From what I've been told it's only visible about 80 days out of the whole year!!!

This was the day we got there!

Then the day we left!

This one is from the air plane on our way home!

All in all it was a great trip! Lots of memories! If you want to see more pictures they are on my Myspace and Facebook pages!

NEVER EVER USE MAJIC!

I have so many things to blog about from vacation and such but there is something more pressing that I tell you all about, why no one should use MAJIC Window and Bath company.

I realize they have nice names backing them and all but the reality is that they pay those people to say nice things.

We have been looking into getting new windows for our house for a little while, we had 3 estimates yesterday and 2 today. I understand when people work on commission and they want the sale but there is a line that can be crossed. Our first appointment today was with Majic, we had spoken with them at the Novi home show we really liked the product and the person representing the company there, so even though we had gotten a great estimate yesterday we wanted to get there information.
First of all the salesman pulls up in an Escalade, which is fine, good for you but when he comes into the house and points that out then continues to insult us and tell me that the research that we did on our own is wrong, that's when I have a problem.
As I'm sure many people would do we looked up all the companies we were looking to do business with on the Better Business Bureau website most had A or A+ ratings, Majic has a C+ and over 100 complaints in the past 36 months, what does that say about the company. When we asked about this I was told that information was incorrect and that the BBB does not do a grading system like that. This would be when I got up and opened the door to ask him to leave. Well I decided to hear their information and explanation, that was a whole line of BS!
Anyway we told him several times we own the home and we have for almost 4 years, he actually commented on us being to young to afford the top of the line windows then when he gave us the estimate (that was ridiculous) asked if we need to check with our parents before we made a decision!
After that we told him this was not a company that we wanted to do business with, he told us that we've wasted his whole day (one hour) and that it was disrespectful to have him come out if we weren't going to go with his company.

Later we found out that there have been people who have actually had to call the police to have a Majic sales person removed from their home! I can understand, I wasn't far from that!

Seattle Here We Come!

I just finished packing and getting everything ready to go to Seattle. I think this is going to be a really good weekend for closure on the Navy part of our life! I'll post pictures when we get back!

This is a picture of the Kitty Hawk just after 9/11, Greg was stationed on it at the time of this picture!

Biggest Loser

So what does everyone think of the new season of Biggest Loser?

It's starting out very interesting! I love that they are really showing the medical aspect of weight loss even more this season and that losing just a small percentage of weight can significantly affect your overall health!

I must say I really am surprised the outcome of the elimination last week, I really expected the Silver team to be gone!

I wonder what is in store this week!

About Me

So Brandy tagged me in this 16 things chain on facebook and it really inspired me to write more, so here I go! A lot of things some people will be very surprised to learn!

#20. I can not wait to have a baby. There was a time (not long ago) that I was so far from this point in my life but now I know this is what I want! Even though I'm a bit scared to be responsible for another human being!
#19. I have so much more to learn in life and I'm ready and willing to learn (even through mistakes)!
#18. I believe the 2 greatest rock bands of all time are Bon Jovi and Aerosmith! I think the lyrics to their songs can change the way you see things! I love how true and real some Aerosmith songs are, if you take away some of weird lyrics they are very poignant!
#17. (This one's not a surprise) I love Jon Bon Jovi enough said!
#16. I love to spend time alone! I know it sounds bad but I like to be quite and think!
#15. I love my friends and family more then anything in the world.
#14. I do not open up to people well, I'm still shy and I don't like to let people in so sometimes I put up a front. I have a very hard time getting over being hurt when someone I love and have let in my life hurt me, hence not letting people in! In fact I truly think there are only a handful of people in this world who really know me and get me and I cherish them more then they know!
#13. I can not stand when someone acts like they are better then you! WE ARE ALL EQUAL!!! From a CEO to the people who clean the toilets in the end we are all judged the same way so get over yourself now!
#12. I am not stuck up, snobby or anything that even resembles those things. If you think I am it's just because you haven't taken the time to get to know me!
#11. I love Chocolate cake! If I could eat it everyday I would! If you want on my good side give me a chocolate cupcake with vanilla or buttercream frosting!
#10. I am not perfect and I will be the first person to tell you this! My house is never in picture perfect condition, I personally think people who have houses like that have way to much time and are over compulsive! I believe there are more important things in life!
#9. I love Audrey Hepburn, her movies, her philosophies on life her amazing giving heart. I believe the world is a better place because of her and everyone should see her movies and read about the amazing charitable work she's done!
#8. I am a girlie girl! I feel better about myself and life when I have a little make up and nail polish on!
#7. I hate mornings!! Always have Always will! I do not like to talk to people for at least 30-60 minutes of being awake!
#6. I love my dogs! They are my children until I am blessed with babies of my own!
#5. I miss my father every single day! Even after 22 years it doesn't get easier you just learn to live without the person you've lost!
#4. I have an obsessive need for approval from others! I know my option is the only one that should matter but I can't help it!
#3. I do love to shop! Not necessarily to buy things just to lose myself in looking at all the beautiful things! It relaxes me!
#2. If I could live any place in the world I would live in New York City, the city makes you feel so alive! But I would have to have the people closest to me there because I hate being away from them.
#1. I have one true hero in this world, that is my mom! I don't know how she ever gave me the amazing life that I've had all on her own but I thank god for her everyday!

Catch up!

Wow I've really been slacking off in the blog area!
Quick catch up.

Greg and I have been working what seems like non stop since the holidays. We are now working opposite shifts, I work 8am-4:30pm and he works 2pm - 10pm so we only see each other for a few minutes in the AM and PM. Luckily for at least the month of January we both have Fridays and Saturday's off which makes it slightly better!
We've also been busy planning and getting ready for our trip out west to Washington State at the end of the month. The ship Greg was stationed on in the Navy is being decommissioned out there on the 31st so we decided to go out there for it! I'm sure it will be cold and maybe rainy but it should will be nice and I've never been out west before so that will be fun. The ship is at the Naval Ship Yard in Puget Sound so we'll be right outside of Seattle, probably go into the city for a day while we're there!

Hmmm what else? Nothing really, my birthday is next week so that's exciting and we can't wait for next Tuesday to say GOOD RIDDANCE to George W.

Beyond that no other news.

Biggest Loser last week was interesting, what I saw of it. My DVR didn't record from 8:40-9:30 so I missed that but no biggie!
I do remember a few tidbits from the auditions though. We were told the season would be the largest and longest ever, there would be more trainers, and more twists. Also that you would come with a partner but you may not end up with that partner!
Can't wait to see what all that means!

Biggest Loser is back!!!

It's time for the next season, and the season I tried out for! I'm glad I'm not on this season and a little bummed at the same time!
In any case time to watch!!
