Seattle/Kitty Hawk

Ok I'm finally going to post some highlights of our trip to Seattle! First the reason we went was for the Kitty Hawk decommisioning ceremony (which turned into an honoring ceremony). The Ceremony was on Saturday morning, it was very nice very emotional but a very nice closure to the Navy Chapter of our lives! Greg was a little emotional, I don't think he ever expected to be back on board the Kitty Hawk for any reason!

Greg and I after the ceremony

Greg giving his final salute!

Later that day we took the ferry to Downtown Seattle (we were in Puget Sound) and saw a beautiful sunset!

The next day it was back on the Ferry to Seattle!

It's so pretty out there!
It was windy!

First stop downtown? The First Starbucks store of course!
Then acrossed the street to Pike Place Market to leave my mark (on the Gum wall)!
Next it was on to Tiffany's (sorry no Pitcture)

On the way back from Tiffany's we passed a Nordstrom Rack with a big SHOE SALE!! Hello my favorite words! I found something I never thought I'd be able to have! A pair of Manolo Blahnik's (and Sex and the City or fashion fan knows that name)! Anyway I got an AMAZING deal so I got this pair!

Next stop the Space Needle!
It was soooo Windy!

Then back to the hotel to watch the end of the Super Bowl!
One of the Very coolest things about the trip was that we actually got to see Mt Rainer two out of our four days! From what I've been told it's only visible about 80 days out of the whole year!!!

This was the day we got there!

Then the day we left!

This one is from the air plane on our way home!

All in all it was a great trip! Lots of memories! If you want to see more pictures they are on my Myspace and Facebook pages!

NEVER EVER USE MAJIC!

I have so many things to blog about from vacation and such but there is something more pressing that I tell you all about, why no one should use MAJIC Window and Bath company.

I realize they have nice names backing them and all but the reality is that they pay those people to say nice things.

We have been looking into getting new windows for our house for a little while, we had 3 estimates yesterday and 2 today. I understand when people work on commission and they want the sale but there is a line that can be crossed. Our first appointment today was with Majic, we had spoken with them at the Novi home show we really liked the product and the person representing the company there, so even though we had gotten a great estimate yesterday we wanted to get there information.
First of all the salesman pulls up in an Escalade, which is fine, good for you but when he comes into the house and points that out then continues to insult us and tell me that the research that we did on our own is wrong, that's when I have a problem.
As I'm sure many people would do we looked up all the companies we were looking to do business with on the Better Business Bureau website most had A or A+ ratings, Majic has a C+ and over 100 complaints in the past 36 months, what does that say about the company. When we asked about this I was told that information was incorrect and that the BBB does not do a grading system like that. This would be when I got up and opened the door to ask him to leave. Well I decided to hear their information and explanation, that was a whole line of BS!
Anyway we told him several times we own the home and we have for almost 4 years, he actually commented on us being to young to afford the top of the line windows then when he gave us the estimate (that was ridiculous) asked if we need to check with our parents before we made a decision!
After that we told him this was not a company that we wanted to do business with, he told us that we've wasted his whole day (one hour) and that it was disrespectful to have him come out if we weren't going to go with his company.

Later we found out that there have been people who have actually had to call the police to have a Majic sales person removed from their home! I can understand, I wasn't far from that!
