When will the madness end?

After working in retail for 6 years and nearly being run over one of those years, I have no interest in getting up before dawn to stand outside in the cold to fight to get a deal!

This being my first "Black Friday" not in retail I was especially looking forward to sleeping in and not dealing with the crowds! Greg actually likes to go out on Black Friday morning so we had decided he would go out in search of a TV. We started doing our research on what one we wanted and where he should go. We had pretty much decided on one then at the last minute Thursday night we decided to wait! I mean the TV we were looking at was only marked down an additional $50 and you would have to be at the store at 3am to get it! No thanks! Most of those "deals" you will be able to get again, or better, you just have to watch for them!

That night when we were talking about the deals and the madness of it all I told Greg at some point someone is going to die or get very seriously injured by the Black Friday chaos.
Well that only took a few hours to come true! I really hope that the family of the man who was killed sues for a whole lot of money and that all stores not just Walmart come up with better security and a more civilized way of conducting black Friday! That is just such a sad and awful story that truly could have been avoided, my thoughts and prayers go out to the family of the man who was killed!

Oh and by the way we did get a TV that night, and saved $300 on it! It can pay to just relax and do your research!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!

I hope everyone had a very happy and safe thanksgiving! I also hope everyone has something that they can be especially thankful for this year, I know I have a few!

Wow it's been a while!

I have a lot to catch up on! Lets start with the Biggest Loser, I have 2 weeks to blog about!

First I was very sad to see Colleen get voted off! I was a little surprised by that, what was Amy C thinking? Did she really think that if she did that all would be mended with the always crazy Vicky? Besides the fact that if she had voted out Vicky she would have actually had more allies with the three black team members and they would have been able to dominate the rest of the game! As soon as she voted Colleen off the first thing I thought was how stupid can you be the second Vicky has the chance to get rid of you she will! You have to watch out for yourself!

I am liking the themed weeks they are very interesting!

Ok on to this past weeks! Vicky is the biggest manipulator ever on that show! Did they really think she did the first NFL drill challenge that slow because she couldn't do it faster? And then to literally just give her the challenge! They all better watch their backs because she is manipulating everyone and she would stab anyone in the back given the chance!
As I suspected, and I'm sure everyone else did too, Vicky took the opportunity to oust Amy C.
Was ANYONE surprised by this?

Can't wait for the makeover show this week!

The concert of a lifetime!!

I don't know where to begin!!! That was quite possibly the most exciting 2 hours ever!!! Very few things can live up to 20 years of hype and anticipation, I was a little worried I had built this up in my head so much that it would not meet my expectations! Well this concert exceeded those expectations by leaps and bounds!!!!!!
I knew it would be awesome and exciting and a really amazing show but seriously, there are no words for how awesome it was!!!
The 2 hour wait for the show to begin was not fun but it was truly worth the 20 years and 2 hours I waited to see MADONNA!

Every aspect and moment of the show was fun and exciting and you just kept wanting more and more!
She didn't really acknowledge being home until close to half way through the show but when the stage turned, that very first view of her face says it all, you could tell she was so happy to be home! I've watched other videos on you tube of the opening in other cities and she has a little smirk but nothing like the smile she has in this video from Detroit!
The song selection was a great mix of old and new. Some of the old songs were a little revamped and even more fun, Vogue, and a faster version of Borderline for example. Human Nature was great,I had forgotten how much I LOVE that song and the video Brittney Spears made for that part of the show was actually really good!

My favorite part truly had to be when she finally really acknowledge being home and how much that meant! "You can take the girl out of Detroit but you can take the Detroit out of the girl, because Detroit girls don't take no shit from nobody.....I don't come back here often so please make a big deal about it.." then when some people up front weren't clapping much she said "that is not the Detroit way, people from Michigan make an effort.." And then when she sang my song a capella, as much of a dork as this makes me, I had a tear in my eye! Watch the videos here:

All in all I was amazed and absolutely in aww of Madonna, she is a born performer! Oh there are so many more parts of the show that I could go on and on about, it will be a memory that I will have forever!
Photos complements of my good friend and fellow concert goer Bess!

Madonna tomorrow!

Anyone who knows me knows that no one in the music industry even comes close to Bon Jovi in my heart! That being said, I can not tell you how freaking excited I am that I FINALLY get to see Madonna in concert tomorrow! For a long time I've had a list of people that I have wanted to see in concert because I really love concerts! There is only one person left on that list that I have not had the chance to see and that person has been on the list forever (literally probably 18/19 years)! That is fellow Michigan Gal Madonna!
I really don't know how I'm going to be able to work tomorrow! I'm going to just want to sing Material Girl all day! Which by the way if she does not sing tomorrow I will be heartbroken!
Seriously she could do only her top songs and it would be at least a 3 hour show and still leave our amazing songs!
When I was in first or second grade, my best friend Michelle's mom took her to see Madonna in the Like a Virgin tour! She was one of the moms who had know idea what to expect and covered Michelle's eyes! I was so jealous, what Michigan girl didn't want to see Madonna in the eighties??
So here's to all my fellow material girls!! See you at Ford Field tomorrow!

Ding dong Brady's gone!

I have not made it any secret that I can not stand, Vicky, Brady, and Heba all season. Now there's one down and 2 to go!
When Vicky said during the weigh in of the ousted contestants that she wanted anyone to come back except Phil, and then they showed her alone interview when she said he was such a bad person and role model! HELLO WTF who is she to talk about role models? She's the one that said winning a video from her children wasn't important! SHE IS A CRAZY B****!
It's interesting that they have cameras there all the time and yet we've never seen any of these alleged instances where Phil has been talking about anyone! Personally I think it was just Vicky and Brady trying to stir the pot hoping to get people on their side so they wouldn't get voted off. I mean she's had no problems telling all of America that she is there for the money. A couple of weeks ago when she said that they were there to win and while it's admirable that some people may be there just to lose weight it's the money they're after! I wonder what she'll think of herself when she and her family sees the show! I'm sure she'll just say they edited it to make her look bad. Well I don't think that was to difficult!
In any case, I say you go Amy C from Michigan! She was right to stand up for herself, and her old team and Jillian will have her back! Besides lets just face the facts, as one of the previous contestants told me at the auditions, when Jillian has been on the show, no one from Bob's team has won! I'm just saying!
By the way when is the make over show? That's my favorite!

Insomnia!!

Yes I am posting this at 5am on a Saturday! I've been taking a new medication for about a week now and one of the side effects is insomnia, LUCKY ME!! I've actually been awake since 3am after about 2 hours of sleep!

Part of the problem today is this meeting at work this morning at 7am. I'm very conflicted about it. While I think it may be needed it was really needed weeks ago. You see the meeting/"training" today is going to be about 5 hours long and is all about the 2009 benefits for our Medicare Advantage plan that I work on to get ready for Annual open enrollment. The thing is the enrollment period starts TODAY! We've had the new material for a couple of weeks and have been taking calls on it for that long as well! This meeting was supposed to be a month ago and at that time it was very needed! My other issue is that because of open enrollment we are required to be open 7 days a week from 8am to 8pm and being low man on the totem pole I will have to work a good majority of those Saturdays and Sundays, which I understand. However with the number of people who work with this product if everyone had volunteered to take a couple of weekends we all would have only had to work one weekend every 4 weeks or something like that. Instead the higher seniority said they would not and forced the 6 newest people and the new temps to take all the weekends between now and the end of MARCH! THANKS!
My other issue with today is that I had told my supervisor weeks ago that I could not work today because I had family in from out of state and she was fine with that. Then this meeting came up, last friday mind you, and while they said it was not manditory I felt like as a newbie I should be there to show I'm commited to my job. Even on Monday she reminded me this is not manditory and I had to open my mouth and say it's ok I'll just come and leave the meeting a little early. After much consideration, during my sleeplessness, I've decided I have to much to do today and if I'm going to be giving up most of my weekends for the next 4+ months, I'm not giving into not being able to work today! Even though I could use the 5 hours of OT!
Anyway, enough bitching about this, I've decided to take a stand for myself and have sent my supervisors a very nice email explaining that I can not attend the meeting!

PS I hope know one else ever has to deal with insomnia, it sucks and you just can't think straight!

Who turned out the lights?

I love changing the clocks back to get that little bit of extra sleep but what I really don't like is it getting dark so early! I came out of my office at 6:30 tonight and it was dark! It's so sad! I love the sun! How long until summer?

More on Election day!

This is in response to the comment on my last blog about the importance of the proposals and how neither of the candidates have amazing track records this year!
Absolutely we need to really look at the proposals, honestly I still don't understand what Prop 2 is really there to do! Stem Cell research is already legal in MI so I'm not sure what exactly the Prop is for! Can anyone explain it to me before the AM?
It took me along time to decide on my vote, I did my research and listened to both sides, I can honestly say I feel that I am making an informed decision tomorrow! Back before the primaries finished up I found this great website where you could answer questions about your views on the big issues and then it would match you up to the person who shared your views the most! I was very surprised when it matched me at like 91% with Obama, at that point I had NO intention to vote for him! I thought that was the most helpful tool I've ever used because it made me look at someone I hadn't even thought of before!!
Like I said before I wouldn't want to belittle or try to change any one's core values or beliefs but I do hope people make an informed decision tomorrow!

Don't forget to VOTE tomorrow!

This is my friendly public serivce announcement please do not forget to vote tomorrow! I am not here to try to sway anyones vote we are all adults who are capable of making our own decisions! The way I look at it if you don't vote you can't complain about the outcome!

That being said in the last 24 hours i've heard some interesting things, I have done my research and here are my findings! Barack Obama is not muslim nor is he middle eastern. He is of African and Irish decent. He is a christian, his father whom he only met once was muslim, from Kenya which is where his name is from. Senator Obama did live in Indonesia for a couple of years as a child but the last time I checked that was part of Asia! If anyone has any info that proves anything other than this than I would love to see it!

Again I'm not trying to sway anyone I just wouldn't want anyone to vote against someone based on lies!

In any case go out and vote especially my ladies out there our grandmothers and greatgrandmothers worked hard to get us that right!
