More on Election day!

This is in response to the comment on my last blog about the importance of the proposals and how neither of the candidates have amazing track records this year!
Absolutely we need to really look at the proposals, honestly I still don't understand what Prop 2 is really there to do! Stem Cell research is already legal in MI so I'm not sure what exactly the Prop is for! Can anyone explain it to me before the AM?
It took me along time to decide on my vote, I did my research and listened to both sides, I can honestly say I feel that I am making an informed decision tomorrow! Back before the primaries finished up I found this great website where you could answer questions about your views on the big issues and then it would match you up to the person who shared your views the most! I was very surprised when it matched me at like 91% with Obama, at that point I had NO intention to vote for him! I thought that was the most helpful tool I've ever used because it made me look at someone I hadn't even thought of before!!
Like I said before I wouldn't want to belittle or try to change any one's core values or beliefs but I do hope people make an informed decision tomorrow!

I think the majority of people who take the time out of their day to obtain an absentee ballot or wait in line at the polls feel that they are making an informed decision. At least I hope they are!! Here is a link to the actual proposal if you would like to read the wording: http://www.michigan.gov/documents/Statewide_Bal_Prop_Status_145801_7.pdf

Sadly I actually know people at work and outside work who aren't voting because they believe in one candidate or the other! There's one guy I work with how has made it pretty well known that he is voting for McCain because Obama is African American, he actually said that today, I really thought we were past all that silly stuff!

Ignorance will never really truly go away and you are right...it's sad. But I still have to have hope and faith in the majority of the American people. :)

Oh and as a side note, I have heard people say that they won't vote for Obama because of his race too...but I also have heard some people out there voting for Obama and not McCain solely because of the race he is. Ignorance sways both ways.

Yes I agree 100% that the ignorance goes both ways!
