After working in retail for 6 years and nearly being run over one of those years, I have no interest in getting up before dawn to stand outside in the cold to fight to get a deal!
This being my first "Black Friday" not in retail I was especially looking forward to sleeping in and not dealing with the crowds! Greg actually likes to go out on Black Friday morning so we had decided he would go out in search of a TV. We started doing our research on what one we wanted and where he should go. We had pretty much decided on one then at the last minute Thursday night we decided to wait! I mean the TV we were looking at was only marked down an additional $50 and you would have to be at the store at 3am to get it! No thanks! Most of those "deals" you will be able to get again, or better, you just have to watch for them!
That night when we were talking about the deals and the madness of it all I told Greg at some point someone is going to die or get very seriously injured by the Black Friday chaos.
Well that only took a few hours to come true! I really hope that the family of the man who was killed sues for a whole lot of money and that all stores not just Walmart come up with better security and a more civilized way of conducting black Friday! That is just such a sad and awful story that truly could have been avoided, my thoughts and prayers go out to the family of the man who was killed!
Oh and by the way we did get a TV that night, and saved $300 on it! It can pay to just relax and do your research!
